Progress continues on CMW’s dnata fitout project at Melbourne Airport, with airport permits beginning to come through and the installation of building services advancing well.

Much of the current activity is taking place at height, as the extensive services network is positioned above the future sandwich panel ceilings.  Mechanical ductwork branches horizontally from the various plant platforms like a tree canopy, while electrical cable trays navigate between the ceiling supports and red fire sprinkler lines thread their way through it all.

Careful coordination between the design, project and subcontractor teams is essential to ensure these complex services come together within a tightly constrained overhead space.

At floor level, the sandwich panel walls have commenced, including the first freezer walls.  Set-out is also progressing ahead of the freezer wearing slabs, marking the next stage in creating the facility’s temperature-controlled areas.

The fitout is steadily taking shape as work progresses across multiple fronts.
