Property Council of Australia Victorian Industrial Outlook
19 February 2026

Great to attend the Victorian Industrial Outlook hosted by the Property Council of Australia, with CMW Directors Tom and Peter joining 380 industry professionals for what was the most attended Outlook event to date.

The breakfast reinforced that while there is some uncertainty at the highest decision-making levels – causing portions of the market to hesitate through the second half of 2025 – the fundamentals of Victoria’s industrial and logistics sector remain strong.

Keynote speaker Darren Searle (LogiSPACE) provided valuable insights into national transaction volumes and capital flows, while Nick O’Brien (Colliers) highlighted the accelerating influence of data centres, energy access and infrastructure on industrial development.

The panel – Charlie Smibert (Brookfield Properties), Jason Blake (Aliro Group) and Nick Sparks (Maddocks), moderated by Anna Maras (Charter Hall Group) – explored how policy reform, land supply, freight planning, automation, AI and sustainability will shape the next phase of growth.

Importantly, the optimism expressed by the speakers is consistent with what we are seeing at CMW.  After some caution mid-2025, we saw green shoots emerge toward the end of last year, with increased confidence around pricing and project commitments.  That momentum has continued into 2026, with new projects secured and breaking ground.

Encouraging signs for Victoria’s industrial sector – and exciting times ahead for our clients and partners.
